Renting a porta potty this winter? Tips you need to know
Most people associate porta potty rentals with events when the weather is nice, such as outdoor events. But did you know that porta potties are used all year round at winter events and construction sites?
Contractors and workers rely on these portable toilets during the winter months while they complete a project, so if you are having remodeling work done on your home, or going to an outdoor event that requires a porta potty, here are a few tips to keep in mind while renting a porta potty in the winter in Central Massachusetts.
Proper Upkeep for Renting a Porta Potty in the Winter
It’s important to note that renting a porta potty in the winter is unlike renting one during the other seasonal months. We add $10 for the winter season for the salt brine we add into the blue liquid in each porta potty. This is to prevent the water from freezing during the cold weather.
Our porta potties are also regularly serviced throughout the winter and other seasons to keep them fresh, clean, and sanitized during regular use. All of our units are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before every engagement.
We deliver to all outdoor event locations in and around Greater Boston, Central and most of Massachusetts. Our portable toilets are a perfect solution for any occasion in Massachusetts because we are local, affordable, reliable and offer clean, well-maintained (and pretty red) toilets that are easy for patrons or employees to spot.
Location, Location, Location
During the winter months, it is important to make sure that you have a good location for your portable toilets, whether it be for an outdoor winter event or home remodeling/demolition project. In case there are strong winds, we recommend placing the porta potty in an obvious location near a fence, wall, or something that can block the wind and prevent it from tipping over.
Additionally, we recommend placing your rented porta potty in a sunny area to prevent freezing.
Because Pleasant View Potties toilets are a bright red color, you certainly cannot miss them in relation to the white snow.
Remove the Snow when Renting a Porta Potty in the Winter
This may seem a bit obvious, but if you are renting a porta potty in the winter, we highly recommend that you shovel and salt around the porta potty location so that the ice melts quickly and you are able to avoid any possible injuries. You also want to ensure that the porta potty is easily accessible, especially for outdoor events such as ice skating.
At Pleasant View Potties, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the porta potty is accessible for the drivers. The customer shall provide unobstructed access to equipment for servicing or removal. A unit is inaccessible if it is located more than 10 feet from an area accessible to a pumper truck.
